University President Attends the Closing Ceremony for the Discover and Learn Programs

His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami stressed during the closing ceremony of the program, that the university strategic plan aligns with the Asir Development strategy plan. He then followed by saying that the university is keen to achieve the kingdom’s vision, through investing in its strengths and highlighting the regions most outstanding sites to mark it as one of the world’s top tourist destinations. Alsolami, praised the pioneering role demonstrated by the university in launching the "Discover and Learn" program in its first edition, to support the national trends and the region's strategy, and to provide an opportunity for tourists to explore the region ‘s tourism cites.

On his part, the Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdul Latif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, explained that King Khalid University has had an active role in the comprehensive national development of the region, as a major enabler in achieving the goals of the Asir region development strategy plan. He added that this summer, several initiatives and programs, such as the “Mobadiroon” program in its fourth edition, and the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program 2023, were held with aim of contributing to the goals and development of the region.

The Executive Director of the "Discover and Learn" program, Dr. Reem Al-Mashhour, explained that the program provided a rich experience during its implementation, which provided the student with a unique and distinctive experience. The university provided curricula for visiting students, and integrated educational and recreational tourism programs. The university also provided a professional career preparation program, as well as an English language study program in partnership with one of the leading language institutes.

Dr. Al-Mashhour added that the university introduced a program to qualify entrepreneurs, which provided qualitative courses to support creators with promising ideas and projects, to help them transform their ideas into entrepreneurial projects. In addition to hosting a number of camps, summer hackathons, and a range of various tourism and entertainment programmes.
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the University President honored success partners from colleges, deanships, supporting departments, and members of the program’s team.
