Saudi Flag Day an Embodiment of Our 2030 Vision and an Enhancement of Our Heritage and our Saudi Identity -King Khalid University President

On the occasion of the Saudi Flag Day, His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami, affirmed that the Saudi Flag Day represents a symbol of the three-century history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a tale narrated by a journey of justice, strength, unity, development, and prosperity.

Al-Solami, explained a royal decree designating March 11th of every year as the Saudi Flag Day, which comes to confirm His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah protect him attention towards embodying pride in the Saudi flag as a beacon of our national identity. March 11 of the year 1937 was the day King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud - may Allah rest his soul in peace – endorsed the Saudi flag in its current form and for that His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz chose this day to commemorate the event.

He added, that the Saudi flag, carries cultural and humane significance, and represents the story of sacrifices and benevolence, he said: the flag is a confirmation of our country’s policy in implementing firmness, justice, and development. He continued that the flag also "tells us the story of our great civilization, which is an original, rich and deep civilization," explaining that for three centuries, this flag stood tall and would not be lowered to half-mast, as it carries all the meanings of goodness and renaissance, and it includes the banner of monotheism (There Is no God but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah), and it is the banner which the people of this blessed country were united under to build a prosperous civilizations.

Al-Solami stressed that the people of this nation best embodied the ideals of our flying banner, drawing their inspiration from our wise leadership—may Allah bless them—and embodying the principles of love and belonging, while exerting all effort and making all necessary sacrifices to uphold and advance our beloved country.

Al-Solami, affirmed that Flag Day is a glorious occasion and an opportunity for the sons and daughters of the kingdom to reflect on what our national flag represents which is the pride of our leadership, our country, our ancestors , and our prosperous present.

In his speech Al-Solami, said that our vision 2030 includes a number of objectives, which strengthen the presence of our civilization and history, and allows the sons and daughters of this country to proudly look back on their history, homeland, and heritage and witness the making of our current rich legacy.

Al-Solami concluded his speech, by praying to Allah almighty to protect our leadership, maintain the safety and security of our country, and keep the green flag flying in all its deep meanings of pride, unity, generosity, and prosperity.
