University Celebrates International Story Day

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Sciences and Arts in Muhayil Asir
(Department of Arabic Language), held a scientific symposium in celebration of the
International Story Day, in which several teaching faculty members from the department
participated in delivering 5 different scientific papers that discussed the subject matter of the
story.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Ibrahim Al Qayed, attended the symposium and emphasized on
the college's eagerness to take part in local, national, and international activities as well as to
fulfill its responsibilities in the areas of education, research, and community service in a way
that strengthens its cultural and scientific presence in society and advances cultural
development.

The papers presented during the symposium included “The Structure of Paradox in the
(Speech of Silence) collection of stories by Mahmoud Hussein Issa”, “The Arabic Story
between Heritage and Modernity”, “Borrowed Narratives", in addition to “Comparing the
Narrative Rhetorical Pattern between Adam’s Story in Surat Al-Baqara and Surat Al-A’raf”,
as well as “The Dialogue Implications in the (Layl Dhal Mithil Bilad Dhai'a)” stories
collection.
