On Thursday, the 5th of January, King Khalid University concluded its participation
in the activities of the "International Conference on Accountancy Education". The
conference was organized by the Saudi Organization for Certified Public
Accountants- SOCPA, under the slogan "Early Preparation for the Labor Market",
which was held at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Riyadh, over
a period of 3 days.

The Dean of the College of Business at the university, Dr. Fayez bin Awadh bin
Dhafra, explained that the university's participation in the conference, which was held
for the first time in the Arab region, came to introduce visitors to the nature of King
Khalid University's programs in the accounting department for all academic degrees
(bachelor's, higher diploma, masters, and doctoral degrees), in addition to briefing the
attendees on the features and characteristics of these programs.

On his part, the Head of the Accounting Department, Dr. Muhammad Asiri, said that
the academic programs, which were presented to the conference visitors, are leading
programs in the field of accounting, as the university offers 3 diplomas, namely
(Higher Diploma in Corporate Governance, Higher Diploma in Internal Auditing, and
Higher Diploma in Tax Accounting), In addition to (MS in Professional Accounting,
MSc in Accounting) programs, as well as the Ph.D. program in (Philosophy of
Accounting). He also added that the Accounting Department recently witnessed the
discussion of the first Ph.D. thesis in accounting in the Kingdom.

It is worth noting that the conference was the first of its kind in the field of
accountancy education in the Kingdom. It aims to empower the sons and daughters of
the country, enhance their skills to compete internationally, improve their work
culture, and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
