On behalf of his Excellency the Minister of Education, His Excellency King Khalid University President Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami chaired, today, Tuesday, the university third council for the academic year 1444Ah. The council was held in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Universities Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, and members of the University Council.

The Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research - Secretary of the University Council - Prof. Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the council discussed a number of topics and took the necessary recommendations.

Al-Qarni noted the council’s most prominent recommendations included the establishment of a scientific association under the name (the Saudi Scientific Society for Studies and Value Practices), the establishment of a scientific journal affiliated with the Saudi Scientific Association for Teachers, in addition to approving the plan to merge the departments of College of Sciences and Arts at Ahd Rafidah with their corresponding departments at the main campus, as well as extending the work of the editorial boards in some university journals.

The Council also agreed to send, extend and attach a number of teaching assistants and lecturers, appoint a number of university lecturers, assistant professors, and associate professors, in addition to grant Masters and PhD degrees to a number of graduate students, as well as to approval some university executive regulations and rules and discuss and approve the university’s annual report for the year 1443.
