Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness the Governor of Asir Region, University Celebrates International Stuttering Awareness Day

On Monday the 31st of October, King Khalid University, represented by the College of
Applied Medical Sciences, celebrated the International Stuttering Awareness Day in the
university city of Al-Qara’a. The celebration was under the patronage of His Royal Highness
Asir Governor, Prince Turkey bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, and in the presence of His Excellency
University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami.

The university held a seminar to raise awareness on stuttering disorder, educate on how to
treat people with this disorder as well as support overcoming speech difficulties. The seminar
also hosted a number of specialists who participated in discussions with the aim of raising
health awareness and motivating the community to follow a healthy life style. Moreover, the
seminar shared stories of people who overcame stuttering and became successful in many
fields.

It is worth noting that the celebration was held in partnership with the General Directorate of
Education in Asir. Representatives from the private sector were also among participants of the
seminar.
