KKU IT Administration Trains Forty Children on the Basics of Robotics

The General Administration for Information Technology at King Khalid University organized a training program for children between the age of (9-13 years old), under the title "Learning the Basics of Electronic Parts and Programming Robots", for a period of 4 days. The program was presented Hassan Al-Sheikh a talented student at the College of Computer Science , who introduced robots and their uses in daily life to the children by identifying parts that can be employed to serve technical innovations that suit their aspirations.

The General Supervisor of the General Administration of Information Technology at the university, Dr. Hamid bin Saleh Al-Qahtani stressed the administration’s interest in educating and training the community in the technical fields, to achieve the university’s societal responsibility, while working to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He added that administration aims to provide qualitative knowledge in priority areas, and promote and support the culture of Innovation and entrepreneurship. He noted that the administration intends to expand its initiatives to offer training services to those interested in the technical fields in order to enhance skills as well as create a global competitive digital society.

It is noteworthy that the training program was praised by the children’s parents, and comes within the framework of the Mobadiroon project in its third edition, which is supervised by the University agency for Business and Knowledge Economy.
