University Clubs Conclude TechTree Challenge to Support the Green Saudi Initiative

King Khalid University, TechTree Technical Challenge recently came to an end. The TechTree Technical Challenge was launched to innovate digital and smart technology solutions aimed at achieving the goals of the Green Saudi Initiative launched by His Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, may God protect him, which tends to reduce carbon emissions, plant ten billion trees throughout The Kingdom, and raise the percentage of protected areas to more than 30% in ​​the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Dean of the College of Computer Science, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Qarawi, said that activating this challenge comes from the importance of investing students' creativity and their ability to participate in effective qualitative initiatives.

Al-Qarawi, added that the initiative was implemented by a number of student clubs during 3 consecutive days, including the Computer Club, the Engineering Club, and the Electronic Games Club. The tracks in the initiative were divided into 3 main tracks, which included the programming track, the Internet of things track, and the electronic games track, where students participated in creating realistic projects that contribute to achieving the goals of the Green Saudi Initiative. The initiative also included accompanying training courses in several different technical fields.

Al-Qarawi thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs represented by the Student Clubs Department, the College of Engineering represented by the Engineering Club and the General Administration of Information Technology represented by the Electronic Games Club, the KKUx platform, and all those who participated in the success of the initiative.
