University Unit Coordinators Second Meeting

King Khalid University, represented by the General Administration of Media and Relations, held the second social media coordinators meeting virtually , the meeting included 60 members .

University Spokesperson and General Supervisor of the General Administration of Media and Relations, Dr. Muflih bin Zaben Al Qahtani, started the meeting by welcoming the attendees and by stressing the importance of the role of media in reflecting the university’s image. He also highlighted the responsibility the units hold in enhancing the university's institutional reputation noting that the General Administration of Media and Communications will provide all the support needed to all units.

Al Qahtani also presented the meetings topics , which included how social media accounts work, the elements that must be implemented, tweeting and publishing regulations and the university’s unified layout.

On her part, the Director of the Media and Communication Department at the General Administration of Media and Relations, Miss. Sara Al Qahtani, tackled the identities of social media accounts, and explained that the aim of any account is to enhance the institutional identity and reputation and build positive mental images about the University. She also affirmed the necessity of taking into account the university’s identity before posting anything.

The Director of Media Development Department at the General Administration of Media and Relations, Mr. Abdulaziz Radeef, moderated the meeting and talked briefly about the identity and development of social media accounts. He also stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between different university units and the General Administration of Media and Relations.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion to answer some of the attendees' questions.
