Student Training Unit an Icon of Empowerment

The Student Training Unit at King Khalid University is an important tool in qualifying and training students, the unit works to teach the student independence in learning, following up on labor market variables, and searching for skills that help in self-development.

Unit goals

The supervisor of the Student Training Unit at the University Mrs. Mona Abdullah Al-Shehri, explained that the unit seeks to meet the requirements of the labor market through offering skills targeted by the entities that search for distinguished employers, in addition to the unit’s consistency to explore student training needs , designing English language development training programs, language test preparation programs, and job interview skills programs.

Al-Shehri, explained that the establishment of the unit is a result of the university’s awareness of the importance of investing in the development of human resources and preparing graduates to meet the labor market needs, through 3 main stages, the first stage : is training courses both practical and theoretical , the second stage is: international summer training, which aims to provide opportunities that enrich the university students experience and engage in different cultural educational environment, the third stage is extracurricular training which include courses that are not directly related to their specialization, but rather to develop self-development.

Collaboration and communication

Al-Shehri ,added that the unit has made visits for the purpose of benchmarking with prominent training bodies in the Kingdom, such as the Musk Charitable Association , King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences and other distinguished training bodies, in which the number of trainees is limited and the competition will be big for the purpose of benefiting from the training programs.
