The Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, meets the university's faculty

Al-Sudairy: The real need for research is transforming it into a marketable products.

His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Education for Universities, Research and Innovation Prof. Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Sudairy met King Khalid University faculty members, in the presence of His Excellency KKU Rector Prof. Faleh bin Reja Allah Al-Solami, and a number of its agents, deans, faculties, at the university theateri "Quraiqar".

The meeting comes within His Excellency Al-Sudairi visit to Asir region, to launch 100 intensive care beds for Corona patients at the University Hospital of the University Medical City in Al Far'a.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the University Rector welcomed the Deputy Minister, thanking him for his concern to meet the University employees, and listening to their opinions and suggestions for the university’s future plan, in the light of the Kingdom's vision 2030, and the new university system.

Prof. Mohammad Al-Sudairy, during his speach, affirmed that the Ministry of Education is seeking to support the universities’work, and thanking the wise leadership - may Allah preserve it - support and believe in the importance of education and scientific research,and transforming visions and hopes into some thing real.

Al-Sudairy stressing on the importance of faculty members’interaction and integration of departments and colleges with each other and the importance of converting research studies into products, and not focusing on raising the level of publication only, highlighting that publishing in distinguished scientific journals is not enough; the real need is transforming it into marketable products that benefit all segments of society to achieving human development.

The discussion dealt with the importance of universities' cooperation with all sectors, in order to achieve what the ministry aspires to in light of the Kingdom's 2030 vision. Al-Sudairy expressed his happiness with the confidence of His Highness, the Emir of Asir region, at the university and its employees through its consultation and contribution to the scientific study of the region's projects, and makes effective societal contributions.

It is noteworthy that His Excellency the Deputy Minister listened to a brief explanation of a number of university agencies during the meeting.
