The Rector Sponsors the Conclusion of the Sixth Sports Olympiad

His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy sponsored the conclusion ceremony of the Sixth Olympiad, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Services.

The olympiad included the 5 championships as follows:

  • Football;
  • Swimming;
  • Table Tennis;
  • Special Needs Table Tennis;
  • Special Needs Athletics Championships.

Rector Al-Solamy emphasized the role of sports activities in the development of athletic talent. He congratulated the dedication of the Deanship of Student Affairs for their preparation and processing committees, noting that Dr. Khalil Asiri, Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Activities, exerted effort in attracting more than 700 students to participate.

In the closing ceremony, the final match of the football championship was held between the College of Humanities and the College of Business.

In the single-player tournament the winners were awarded as follows:

  • College of Applied Medical Sciences in Table Tennis;
  • Faculty of Languages and Translation in Table Tennis for special needs;
  • College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion Athletics for special needs ;
  • College of Pharmacy won in Swimming.

In the multi-player tournament the winners were awarded as follows:

  • College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion came in third;
  • College of Humanities came in second;
  • College of Business took home the Perfect Team Shield;
  • College of Engineering took home the 1441 AH Olympic Shield.

The Deanship of Students Affairs recognizes that athletic competitions represent an important recreational activity that helps relieve stress from rigorous academic programs, noting that team sports and friendly competition build camaraderie among those in the university community.
