Internal and External Change Periods ...

Announcement of Internal Change Period for (male / female students)

in the 1st Semester of the academic year 1437 / 1438 AH.

Internal Change for (male / female students):

The Deanship of Admission and Registration is announcing the Internal Change Period for the first semester of the academic year 1437 / 1438 AH, which will start - God Willing - on Monday 1 / 9 / 1437 AH, and will last on Saturday 6 / 9 / 1437 AH.

The student must apply for the change through a request on the website of the Deanship (Academia) in the following link http://registration.kku.edu.sa/kku/init. The Internal change includes the following:

Type of Internal Change

Conditions and regulations

Changing the type of study

Changing from affiliation to regular

  • The Required GPA should be 3 or above / 5.
  • Finish more than two semesters and less than six semesters.

Changing from regular to affiliation

  • The GPA is not a requirement.
  • There is a time limit for the change and it is the same as the withdrawing period.

Change of degree

Changing from diploma to bachelor

  • The Required GPA should be 4 or above / 5
  • Finish more than four semesters.

Changing from bachelor to diploma

For all students either regular or failed, who want to change, they must apply the request through enquiry system in Academia Portal.

Change the specialization

Changing of specialization from one BA to another BA specialization or from one Diploma to another diploma specialization

  • Changing is only once between colleges and twice between college's departments.
  • The student must apply the request through the electronic portal.
  • The student can choose three selections.
  • All the applications will be treated according to the capacity of the college and students' GPA.
  • The student must finish more than two semesters and less than four semesters.
  • The student must pass any test that the college or department requires (if there is).

Important Notes:

  1. The students who want to apply for the change must choose their three choices carefully and accurately
  2. The total adherence to the time and the place of the change system in the University, and the follow up of the request.
  3. The deanship will only receive the requests through the electronic portal.
  4. For students who have completed the preparatory year and did not get the required GPA, they must apply a request through the enquiry system in the electronic portal (academia) and follow up the request.

External Change Period for the First Semester 1437 / 1438 AH.

The Deanship of Admission and Registration is announcing the External Change Period for the first semester of the academic year 1437 / 1438 AH, which will start - God Willing - through dar.kku.edu.sa, on Monday 1 / 9 / 1437 AH, and will last on Wednesday 10 / 9 /1437 AH. Note that: the external change will be handled electronically and there will be no need for bringing any document or paper to the deanship. Based on that, a student does not have to come to the deanship. The means of communication with the student is through the mobile phone messages.

Mechanism of External Change:

  • The student must apply for the change through a request on the website of the Deanship (Academia) in the following link http://registration.kku.edu.sa/kku/init. Then, the student fills the request form, by entering the data as required, and as described in the website.
  • The student must upload the required documents in (PDF) format and then save the request.
  • After the student receives the approval, he / she must bring the clearance letter and hand it over to the deanship within a maximum period of two weeks from the date of the letter.

General Conditions for External Change:

1 - The student must be a Saudi, or from a Saudi Mother.

2 - The student must finish the preparation year (if there is) and choose a specialization.

3 - All the requests will be treated according to the capacity of the specialization or department. The differentiation between students is according to their Grade Point Average (GPA).

4 - The student must finish more than two semesters and less than four semesters.

5 - The total commitment to the time and the place of the change period in the University and follow-up the request.

6 - The student must pass any test that the college or department may require (if there is).

7 - The total commitment to the minimum rate of external change which requires not less than the lowest rate for the Internal Change.

The items required by the Documents:

  • A certified change form from student's original Admission and Registration Deanship.
  • Academic record (original and two certified copy).
  • A copy of the secondary school certificate.
  • A copy of the personal identity.

Note That: Any wrong information given by the student will render his / her request for the change null and void, and thus cancels the change process.
