University of Swansea Delegates Visits KKU

As part of the international cooperation initiative at King Khalid University, His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Pro. Falleh R.M. Al-Solamy, was pleased to welcome a delegation from Swansea University in the United Kingdom in his office on the 5th of Rabī' Al-Thānī.

At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Al-Solamy welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed King Khalid University's eagerness to benefit from local, regional and international expertise, including Swansea University, to develop the university and to continue to climb in world rankings. He related that achieving top-200 international status by 2030 is the goal. His Excellency expressed gratitude to the University of Swansea for this visit.

Also in attendance was Vice Rector for Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, who discussed plans to enhance cooperation in joint research programs, faculty and student exchange programs, and English language education. Cooperation in these fields, he explained, aims to bring improvement in the quality of educational outputs and to apply the best quality practices at the regional, national, and international levels. The delegation watched a presentation about King Khalid University and its achievements in ranking at the regional, national, and international levels. They also reviewed the academic programs, research achievements, and recent scientific publications.

After the meet-and-greet, the delegation went on a tour and held meetings with a number of colleges in order to exchange views and identify areas of possible joint cooperation.
