University Scholarship Student Receives International Honour Society Golden Key Membership

King Khalid University scholarship student Ali Abdulrahman Al-Shehri, computer engineering specialist from the College of Computer Science, was recently awarded a Golden Key International Honour Society membership by Melbourne Royal University in Australia. He was awarded this prestigious prize for outstanding research in building flexible devices using nanotechnology. While pursuing his graduate degree, he transformed electronic components into two-dimensional devices in order to create platforms for flexible design and manufacturing.

His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R.M. Al-Solamy, congratulated Al-Shehri for his hard work and distinguished achievement. 'The university is honored and proud of Abdulrahman Al-Shehri. His impressive achievement reflects well on the university and the entire Kingdom'. Rector Al-Solamy added that we are honored and encouraged by every Saudi citizen who is duly recognized for their innovation and contribution to science and development.

Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, also congratulated and praised Abdulrahman Al-Shehri. Vice Rector Al-Amry noted that Al-Shehri will serve as an excellent role model for future generations of outstanding Saudi students and researchers. Al-Shehri is exactly the type of hard-working and accomplished individual we seek in our scholarship program he related. Al-Shehri represents some of the best the Kingdom has to offer and will contribute to the university's objective of top-200 status and the goals outlined in Vision 2030.

Also congratulating Al-Shehri was College of Computer Science Dean, Dr. Ali Al-Qarawi, and Scholarship Administration General Supervisor, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amry. They reiterated that Al-Shehri's achievement is symbolic of the Kingdom's commitment to educational excellence and scientific development in a variety of fields.

By way of background, the Golden Key International Honour Society was established in 1977 in the United States of America to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement and excellence among college and university students from all academic disciplines. The purpose is to recognize educational prowess and inspire excellence in many different fields.
