The Department of Media and Communication held a workshop titled 'Become your Child's Language Specialist'. The purpose was to raise awareness of speech and language problems in children and review potential solutions. Media and Communication Students Abeer Hakami and Latif Al-Bishri worked in collaboration with the private sector on this as a capstone project under the supervision of Department of Media and Communication Head, Nora Al-Amer.

The professional campaign team included Dr. Rana Al-Masry, speech therapist, Dr. Ahmed Hakami, family doctor, and Dr. Fardos Al-Baha, psychologist. They reviewed the causes of language learning deficiencies and the strategies to mitigate these difficulties. They then had a Q&A session for the audience consisting of more than 300 visitors. At the end of the program, guests were provided booklets, flyers, and brochures to spread awareness of the campaign.
