More Than 90 Children Celebrate Universal Children’s Day

The Kindergarten Department, in cooperation with the Qimam Club, in the Faculty of Education at King Khalid University celebrated 'Universal Children's Day' with more than 90 children in attendance. Also in attendance were members of the Al-Janoub Charitable Committee, educational counselors, advisors, and university faculty.

The program included a variety of interesting events. A Qimam Club student presented a play titled ‘My Rights’. Also, Assistant Dean, Dr. Ayesha Asiri, gave a rousing speech on the children's rights and the importance of parental influence on the future of our children. Her colleague, Dr. Ayesha Al-Hyani, made an informative presentation on the importance of mental health and child development.

Kindergarten Department Head, Ms. Haifa Mabrook, led a discussion on healthy childhood development focusing on the behavioral implications of having an active social life in character development. Department Supervisor, Ms. Zahra Al-Khamis, discussed the ways in which awareness programs, such as the subject event, can be helpful in overcoming obstacles and challenges in education and child development. She noted the various ways awareness programs can alleviate child behavioral and psychological issues.

At the event, there were also a number of booths sponsored by faculty members including but not limited to:

  • Healthy Eating
  • Abuse and Assault Protection
  • Library Activities
  • Earth Awareness
  • Technology and Modern Life
  • Child Emergency Medical
  • Hospitality

At the conclusion of the program, the hosting committee honored all of the children and other attendees.
