His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, issued a decree appointing Dr. Sara Hani Abu-Ghazalah as Head of the Information Security and Cybercrime Unit.

Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Saad Al-Amry, expressed his appreciation towards His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy for issuing the decision. He highlighted that Dr. Abu Ghazaleh is known for her scientific research in information security and cybersecurity, adding that she received her graduate degree for the University of Glasgow in 2011 and her Ph.D. for the University of London in 2016. Additionally, he related, she has amassed numerous certificates, and licenses specialized in information security and cyber security alongside international participation in this field.

Vice Rector Al-Amry added that this decision supports young leaders to uphold unique administrative positions in research and leadership. He then noted that the King Khalid University Council transferred the Research Unit of Information Security and Cybercrime into the Center of Information Security and Cybersecurity at its most recent meeting.
