Medical Staff Members Deliver Self-Examination Wellness Lectures in Belasmar

Dr. Naima Ali Riyad, Ms. Iman Farouk, and Ms. Reem Saeed Al-Mahia delivered lectures on how to self-examine breast tissue for any physical or visual changes as an early detection method for breast cancer. Professor Sahar Al-Shahrani, Vice Dean of the Nursing College, explained that the College of Nursing aims to raise health awareness through screening techniques training in Belasmar by briefing women on symptoms, prevention, and the treatment methods of breast cancer.

She pointed out that it was through the program that they offered the early examination of breast cancer and transferred cases to larger hospitals to receive comprehensive treatments.

For her part, the Coordinator of the Women's Department of the Faculty of Medicine in the Health Program, Dr. Iman Al-Nashar, pointed out that they aim to serve the Belasmar Center and to provide health and culture awareness services with the participation of professors from the Faculty of Medicine and multiple disciplines.

Al-Nashar added: "As part of the university’s mission, the Faculty of Medicine aims to spread health awareness and serve the community, by offering an awareness campaign on osteoporosis in Belsamar, targeting students, teachers, and administrators."

In addition, the program visited a primary school in Belasmar where they delivered lectures on osteoporosis, anemia and the importance of hygiene in our overall health. The program was also presented on Thursday at a secondary school and provided lectures on breast cancer and gynecological diseases.
