His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Dr. Faleh Bin Rajaa Allah Al-Solamy, chaired the sixth council meeting for the current academic year 1439H in the presence of His Excellency the Secretary General of the (Interim) Committee for the Council of Higher Education, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, members of the executive leadership team throughout the university, and the college deans and council members of the female campuses via video conferencing.

Rector Al-Solamy opened the session by praising God and his Messenger (PBUH); this was followed by the Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies, the Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Saad Al-Amri, who reviewed the topics on the agenda. During the meeting, Dr. Saad Al-Amri explained the recommendations made to improve the Electrical Engineering program as well as the recommendations for the Industrial Engineering program. He also noted that there will be some changes regarding the numbers and codes of the Fundamentals of Religious Education Masters program in the curriculum and thesis. His recommendations also included sabbatical leave for faculty members, the adoption of a summer course and the promotion of staff members.
