International diving course in university.

35 student, who are fans of swimming, and who are from the diving club of the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Khalid University have received a lecture as well as a cruise in the international course of diving in open water "Open water Diver". The course was accredited by the American organization "Naui", and was organized by the club in order to train the students on swimming and diving Arts.

The Training course included 3 parts, a part for the water information and skills development, another part for endurance, in addition to a third part for practical application - both in the swimming pool and in the open water. The training course was presented by Captain Mohammed Al-Shahrani, who began with the theoretical framework by displaying a videotape which explained in detail, various diving skills. Moreover, Al-Shahrani clarified the required standards to be met by those who want to learn to dive. The course also included an explanation about the importance of spreading and raising awareness of free diving sport. The organizers sought to help divers enjoy the free diving, and at the same time preserve the marine environment.

On his turn, Al-Shahrani said that the training course began in the swimming pool, and then the trainees went to Albark Province where they practiced free diving in the open water of the Red Sea.  He further explained that the operational framework for the course included learning the principles of diving, and the equipments needed to dive. The participants in the course have been trained on the necessary skills required to dive, besides all what may be related to this hobby.
