King Khalid University Raises Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Environment on "World Day for Safety and Health at Work"

Under the patronage of his Excellency Acting President of King Khalid University, Prof. Saad bin Mohammed bin Dajam, and with his attendance, the General Administration of Facilities, represented by the Occupational Safety and Health Department, and in cooperation with the Internal Communication Department, organized a joint event entitled  "World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2024", which aims to raise awareness on the importance of occupational safety and health in the university. The events were held at the University City in Al-Faraa, and were attended by the university vice president for administrative affairs, Prof. Mohammad bin Hamed Al-Bihari.

The Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Department at King Khalid University, Mr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Musa, explained that the event comes within the university’s efforts to strengthen community partnerships and raise awareness on the importance of occupational safety and health; in conjunction with World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which falls on April 28 under the slogan "Safety Starts with You." He added that the event focuses on innovations and new practices in the field of occupational safety and health, and highlights the university's efforts, which reflect its commitment to achieving the highest standards of occupational safety and health, its leading role, and its reliance on modern technologies and international standards, in order to improve work environments and enhance the well-being of its members.

Al-Musa. pointed out that the Occupational Safety and Health Department is a vital department at the university, as it strives to preserve the safety of life and property. This department consists of several departments and units, including the Facilities Safety Department, the Occupational Health Department, and the Fire Fighting Department, in addition to the Training and Quality Unit, the Health Surveillance Unit, and the Occupational Safety Unit.  It’s worth noting that the department works continuously to test the quality of air and water, as an essential part of its efforts to ensure a healthy and safe work environment for all, in accordance with recognized international standards to ensure a healthy work environment.
