The First International Conference for Applied Environmental Sciences kicks off on Wednesday, February 7, under the patronage of His Excellency, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami. The conference is organized by the Applied College in Muhail Asir and will be held from 26 – 27 Rajab 1445H, February 7 – 8 2024, at the Applied College Theatre in Muhail Asir. 

The CEO of the Applied College in Muhail Asir, Dr. Ibrahim bin Ali Al-Qaid, explained that the conference (ICAES 2024), focuses in its first edition on raising awareness, in conjunction with Saudi Vision 2030. The conference will discuss environmental awareness, and will aim to find solutions through specialized research in air, water, and food polluters. As well as light and Radiation pollution, Microbial and viral infections, environmental poisons, Health and professional safety, toxic waste, and environmental health. The conference also aims to amend some challenges of urban and industrial progress we witness in the kingdom today.

Al-Qaid explained the general points that will be discussed at the conference, which include (Biological and environmental sciences, chemical application in environmental risk prevention, advanced nanomaterials in environmental applications, and computing and smart environment). During the Conference's 6 meetings, 47 research papers will be discussed over the span of days with academics and researchers from inside and outside the Kingdom.  

It is worth noting that environment is one of the top research priorities according to the 2030 King Khalid University Strategy, in line with the Asir Development Strategy.
