King Khalid University Council held its 13th meeting for the academic year 1443AH last Tuesday, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the University Affairs Council, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, and the council members.

The Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research - Secretary of the University Council - Prof. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the council reviewed a number of topics on the meeting’s agenda and took appropriate decisions towards them.

Al-Qarni added'' that among the council most prominent recommendations is the approval of scholarships  for teaching assistants and lecturers,  the appointment of university employees to the positions of  lecturers, assistant professors, and associate professors, as well as granting MA and Ph.D.  degrees to postgraduate students.

The Council also agreed on the delegating and sabbatical of a number of teaching staff in different entities. Moreover, the council approved the recommendations of the Audit Committee’s 4th meeting for the academic year 1443 AH, and the recommendations of the Investment Committee’s 2nd meeting for the fiscal year 2022.

The council also agreed on the approval of a number of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements and the formation of permanent committees for postgraduate studies. In addition the council agreed on the adoption of executive, behaviour, and examination regulations for postgraduate and university students, as well as  the approval of the  transition of  some  postgraduate programs (Master, Ph.D.) to three semesters.
