University Officials and Employees: Comment on the “Times 2022” Ranking Classification

King Khalid University, officials and employees commended the consecutive success achieved by the filed of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, they applaud the development  and growth of Saudi universities globally,  and stressed  that the support and guidance of our wise leadership is the a pillar in this success.

 

Unconditional Support

University Vice president Prof. Mohammad bin Hamid Al Buhair said “ Evidence of our wise leadership’s support and insight continues to appear in various fields of prosperity and development.  He added, the entry of 15 Saudi universities  in the Times classification is a 50% increase  in comparison to the pervious ranking and a sold indication of the efforts and devotion dedicated towards the field of education.

 

Great Leap

University Vice president of Academic affairs Prof. Saad bin Mohammad bin Dujam commented: His Excellency the minister of Education ’s announcement that t 15 Saudi universities entered  the Times Classification 2022 is leap towards achieving one of the main goals of our  strategic vision to have  at least 3 Saudi  universities among  international classifications. Bin Dujam, added The Times classification depends on several indicators, most important of which are the volume of innovation, the number of PhD holders, the institution’s reputation in research, the number of annual research papers, citations to university research, stressing that these achievement are all a result of the efforts led by the Ministry of Education and the  Universities to align with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”

 

Ongoing Support

University  Vice president  for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Dr. Abdullatif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, congratulated our  wise leadership and His Excellency the Minister of Education and  the Saudi Universities on the  entry of 15 Saudi universities into the Times World University Rankings 2022, noting that these achievements are a result of the continuous support dedicated to  education from our wise leadership. ” Al-Hadithi added, “ Saudi universities competition  with other universities at the regional and global levels, is only a result of their capabilities, the empowerment of the universities  education systems,  the efficiency of programs and projects and our national intention to align  with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

 

Promoting  Research and Innovation

University Vice president of Post Graduate  Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, praised the entry of the 15 Saudi universities into the Times Classification 2022. Al-Qarni, explained that, King Khalid University, through its educational and research systems, strives to promote a culture of research and innovation in line with the Kingdom's ambitious Vision 2030 and serves the goals and directions of the Ministry of Education.  He added, "This  achievement proves the university's efforts in the research and publication field , noting that  during the past five years a significant rise in the citations rate was positively reflected on the university’s classification locally and globally, the rate of  published research papers  reached about 519%, and a clear   increase in the number of citations amounted to about 152%, which are all a result of the university’s efforts and sources directed to the filed of research and innovation.

 

Global Competitiveness

University Vice president of Quality and Development, Dr. Marzan bin Awada Al-Shahrani, said, “We have the right to be proud of the  global competitiveness of the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the entry of 15 Saudi universities in the British Times classification,  which is due to the unlimited support that Saudi universities receive from our  government and the directions and supervision of the Ministry of Education. Al-Shahrani added, "This achievement comes as a translation of the great progress witnessed by Saudi universities in the fields of teaching, scientific research and knowledge transfer between regional and international universities, as well as the development of university training programs by all modern methods. He finally said : our future holds  great opportunities to achieve continuous successes in bridging university outputs to serve the labor market and  to achieve the directions of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”

 

Great Efforts

University Vice president of Female Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kholoud Saad Abu Melha, said, "The Times classification is one of the most important  international classifications and the entry of 15  Saudi universities is an outstanding achievement , the confirms that Saudi universities  are globally competitive and are equipped with the best sources and modern technologies that qualify them internationally.

 

Joined Efforts

The general supervisor of the branch of King Khalid University in Tihama, Dr. Ahmed Atef Al-Shehri, explained that entry of 15 Saudi universities  in the Times Classification 2022 reflects the generous support of the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is excels  under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques  His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and,  His Royal Highness Crown Prince,  Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect them - and with the follow-up of the Ministry of Education and the concerted efforts of universities, especially in the field of research and scientific publishing, stressing that the efforts of these  advanced centers are  undoubtedly reflected in the quality of the education outcomes and our keenness to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

 

National Development

The Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Ibrahim bin Suleiman Al-Shahrani, said, "Praise be to God, who has bestowed this blessed country with this wise leadership, who  has supported the education sector.  Adding that the Ministry of Education has strengthened the role of research and innovation and its impact on national development.Al-Shahrani added, “Higher education is  a main pillar in our national  economic and social indicators, which have elevated our kingdom to the ranks of global ranking, and reflected the bright image that we aspire to reach.

 

University Development

The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Abha, Dr. Majid Saad Al Faye, commended  the entry of 15 Saudi universities into the Times Classification ,  and the 50%  in crease reached in 2022. Al Faye said, “our success is a   results of the  support we receive from our wise leadership , who drew  the road map for all Saudi industries to  achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

He “added This progress is a great  indication of the development of Saudi universities and their relentless pursuit of achieving our  nation's strategies, and we are confident that the future will be full of many more  achievements.

 

Enhancing  Research

The Dean of the Faculties of Sciences, Arts and community college  at Rijal Alma’a, Dr. Siham Mousa Al Haider, explained that “we are all proud of this achievement,  and the progress of Saudi universities, noting that this success  is nothing but  the effort  made by our wise leadership, the Ministry of Education and the University Affairs Council.

Adding that “ research is a source of great strength for prestigious universities around the world, and focusing on it a great investment, which contributes to developing societies and attracting creative ideas.”

 

Clear vision

The Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Mahayel Asir, Dr. Noura Banafa, said, “Our wise leadership pays special attention to education.His Majesty  King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, and  Royal Highness  Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, harnessed all efforts to establish a clear and ambitious vision for the Kingdom to be among the top 20 to 30 educational systems in the world.”

 

Hard work

The General Supervisor of the International Classifications Unit at the university and the Vice Dean of Quality and Development,  Dr. Sami Musabeh Al-Shehri, said  that “the Saudi universities’ continuation in their success and outstanding progress in international classifications is the result of good planning, quality of implementation, and hard work undertaken by the universities. The most recent of these honorable results was the entry of 15 universities in the Times World University Rankings, among 1662 universities selected from 99 countries around the world.

Al-Shehri added, "This achievement is a step  within an integrated series of higher goals planned by the Ministry of Education, and according to a clear roadmap aimed at bringing Saudi universities to the highest international ranks, and achieving the  Kingdom's Vision 2030.

 

Qualitative distinction

ViceDean of the College of Sciences and Arts in Mahayel Asir for Educational and Academic Affairs, Dr. Saleh bin Ahmed Al-Suhaimi, confirmed that “when 15 Saudi universities achieve a national achievement in scientific progress worldwide according to the Times classification 2022, we are very  proud. stressing that  this progress indicates the importance of  distinguishing qualitative excellence in terms of scientific research, innovation and teaching methods.

He added, "King Khalid University is one of the most important Saudi universities in terms of scientific and research excellence, and through God’s blessing and the support of our wise leadership that this all was achieved.

 

 

Institutional work

Assistant Professor of Literature and Criticism at the College of Science and Arts in Mahayel Asir, Dr. Ibrahim Omar Al-Mahaili, said that "the entry  of 15 Saudi universities in the Times Classification 2022, is a reflection of the support  devoted to education by our wise leadership, and the  Ministry of Education intention  to improve  the status of Saudi  universities.

Al-Mahaili added, "This outstanding achievement  is the effort  of diligent academic work, and a  dedication to the filed of  education is a priority set by our wise leadership, may God protect it, and that education is a major component in  the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
