Media Department visits Radio and TV stations in Jeddah

King Khalid University, represented by the Department of Media and Communication organized an educational trip for 20 students from the department on last Tuesday and Wednesday to the city of Jeddah. The visit is a part of the training and Applied programs offered by the Department for its students, in order to identify the media work closely.

The visiting team visited the Radio and Television station, in the western region, as well as the Research Center. The team also visited Okaz and Al-Madina Newspapers.

The visitors met senior journalists, who have been experienced more than 20 years in the field of Radio and Television.

In this regard, Dr. Saeed Saeed, a Professor of Journalism at the University of King Khaled clarified that the department has arranged this visit, accompanied by three members of the faculty, ten male students, and ten female students. The visit was to identify the most important uses of technology in the Radio and Television, and how to work in the field of Television; dealing with the guest and the camera.

He also noted that the association of students with the instructive and theoretical education is no longer enough in this field. He said, "We have to establish training workshops during the study period."

He added, "Meeting journalists with long experience will benefit the students greatly."
