On behalf of His Royal Highness the Prince of Asir, His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solamy, sponsored the closing ceremony for the 6th Health and Culture Awareness Program in Belasmar.

His Excellency the University Rector and the General Supervisor of the Program welcomed all participants and those who contributed to the success of this program and the achievement of its goal. “I welcome you all to the closing ceremony of the 6th Health and Culture Awareness Program in Belasmar. The University is honored to host this annual program in one of the governorates of the region. We thank Allah for the tremendously positive impact this program has had on our community, and we thank those who helped to achieve it."

Al-Solamy also said: "We are pleased to survey the views and opinions of the participants, so we can work on avoiding any future shortcomings while developing our strengths." He also thanked HRH Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz and HRH Prince Turkey bin Talal bin Abdulaziz for their generosity and continuous support. Al-Solamy also thanked the governmental centers in Belasmar, all public figures that contributed to the program, and those who helped arrange and manage the program.

In his closing remarks, Vice Rector for Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani said: "The preparation of this program began eight months ago under the aegis of His Royal Highness’s approval and followed by planning and execution project team coordination."

He added the first stage started in the Belasmar General Hospital on the second day of the month of Jumada Al-Akhar 1439 AH, in a variety of clinics. Al-Shahrani said that the activities of the program started on the 15th of this month for 5 days with 25 clinics including dentistry clinics, applied medical sciences clinics, family medicine clinics, radiation, laboratories, pharmacies, smoking cessation clinics, neck and back injury clinics, diabetes clinics, gynecology clinics and osteoporosis clinics. They were boosted by awareness exhibitions, workshops, and courses in schools and assemblies. In a sustained effort to reach the entire community, the program served more than 35,000 citizens from Belasmar and neighboring towns.

During the closing ceremony, the people of Belasmar delivered a heartfelt speech on behalf of Sheikh Tarad bin Ali, in which they thanked King Khalid University for what they have offered to their community and for the long-lasting impact they will leave.
