National Symposium on 'The Present and Future of English in Saudi Arabia: Research Concerns'

Faculty of Languages and Translation of King Khalid University announces the organizing of a national symposium on 'Present and Future of English in Saudi Arabia: Research Concerns.' The conference will be held from 25/12/1435 AH (19/10/2014 AD) to 26/12/1435 AH (20/10/2014 AD). Its aims are to:

1- Attract scholars and researchers in different aspects of English, which are concerned with applied linguistics, so that they could share their ideas and outcomes of their research with their peers around the Kingdom, especially those related to the best methods in the teaching process. 

2- Raise academicians' awareness of the current and future trends in teaching the English Language.

3- Handle top research issues in the field of applied linguistics at the levels of theory and application.

4- Help in spreading knowledge of the newest trends and publications related to applied linguistics, and

5- Invite researchers in the field of applied linguistics and other related fields to discuss some co-interest issues.

The participants of the symposium will also discuss many topics related to literature and language, best teaching methods, culture, language planning and policies, English curriculum, and teaching language in line with technology.

Deadline for accepting abstracts: 24/10/1435 AH (28/8/2014 AD)

Deadline for accepting complete papers: 25/11/1435 AH (29/9/2014 AD)

Participation in this symposium is limited to researchers from Saudi universities.
