University hosts the 1st Saudi Conference on the Environment.

The King Khalid University (KKU), represented by the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Center for research, tourism and environmental studies, hosts the 1st Saudi conference on the environment. The Conference is going to be held in Abha, from 27th to 29th of the next -Jumada Al-Awwal.

The conference aims to support the national economy. It will be possible through the application of the concepts of environmental sustainability, especially in the area of natural resources. In addition, the conference aims to identify expected threats to the environment, locally, regionally, and globally, as well as the environmental pollution and modern techniques of facing the risks.

Earlier, the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Center for research, tourism and environmental studies has identified several axes, through which scientific papers and discussion will be put forward. The first of these axes is the axis of natural resources. It includes optimal exploitation of energy, wetlands, forests and natural reserves and pastures, enhanced technology to the sustainability of natural resources, environment, and economics. The axis of global warming, and climate changes including desertification, drought, floods, the impact of climate change on the livings, in addition to ways to reduce and mitigate the effects of global warming. Another axis is about "biodiversity", which includes the depletion of biodiversity factors, the protection of ecosystem's endangered species, and the preservation of germ-plasm. Also there is the axis of environmental pollution, and ways of treating it. This includes air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, environmental waste, in addition to pollution and its impact on the livings. Lastly, the axis of the prevention of environmental risks, which includes environmental predictions, environmental planning, and environmental safety.

The center clarified that abstracts, posters, and full scientific papers will be accepted in both Arabic and English languages. Moreover, Participation should be sent in a form of a summary of no more than 300 words through the e-mail (fsec@kku.edu.sa). The deadline for accepting participation from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the 26th of the current month. Accordingly, regarding participation from inside the Kingdom, the Center is ready to accept submissions till 3/3/1437 AH.
