A PhD student at the University suggests future university requirements.

A PhD student of King Khalid University, majoring in Educational management and Supervision, Fatima Ali al-Harith, has recommended the adoption of the Saudi universities to the requirements of the future University. Fatima stressed the concentration of universities on a number of dimensions represented in the international institutional philosophy, strategy and international vision, the international regulatory structure, the international mobility of the faculty members and students, the internationalization of curricula and academic programs, the internationalization of scientific research, and the international marketing to the universities. In addition, the development of the organizational structure, to identify mechanisms and components in support of the transition to the future University, and implement partnerships and twinning relation with international universities.

Fatima Al-Harith, within her academic research study, dealt with the main principles underlying the future University, and determined the requirements of applying its principles on the King Khalid University. She indicated the need to grant Saudi universities the regulatory, administrative and financial independence so as to ensure the flexibility of resolution, and to enhance the competitive position of the University by its commitment to various international standards of universities, with emphasis on the internationalization of education and to give an international dimension to academic programs and scientific disciplines, and to design educational and Academic programs which are international in rare specialties that support competitive advantages, in addition to community contribution to the funding of scientific research in universities.
