Launching an Advisory Committee to Nominate Academic Leaders

His Excellency President of King Khalid University, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, launched the Advisory Committee to nominate academic leaders through a newly developed electronic service on Wednesday the 24th of February 2021.

 

During the launching ceremony, President Al-Solamy thanked the General Directorate of Information Technology for building the electronic system, which is an excellent addition to the Advisory Committee in-charge of academic leaders in that it will streamline all associated workflows in the nomination and placement of academic leaders.

 

On his part, Prof. Saeed bin Saleh Al Raqib, Consultant of the University President and Head of the Advisory Committee, explained that the new process will empower qualified academic leaders, achieve equality, and empower excellent leadership figures equipped to meet Vision 2030. "Advisory Committee regulations are inspired by international best practices and are based on principles drawn from the academic leadership field," Prof. Al Raqib concluded.

 

The Advisory Committee's tasks include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Announcing available positions.
  • Receiving nomination requests.
  • Evaluating applicants through available information and interviews.
  • Submitting recommendations to the president of King Khalid University.

 

Of note, the Advisory Committee was approved by the University Council, and the General Directorate of Information Technology developed the electronic system.
