Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education Launches Crisis Management Short Course

On the 22nd of Shawwal, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education delivered a short course entitled "The Skills of Dealing with Crises and Disasters". This course is a part of the Mobaderoon initiative. 

 

Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, explained that the course is a collaboration with the College of Business. "It's an online course that lasted for two hours from 7 pm to 9 pm tailored to female community members. I thank the College of Business for their collaboration and everyone who participated in organizing this course," he said.

 

The primary objective of the course was to explain the concept of a disaster from a scientific point of view, clarifying the difference between a disaster and a crisis. It also introduced the categories of crises and explained the most important strategies to deal with a crisis. The role of community institutions was highlighted alongside the importance of individuals in the face of crises and disasters. The short course concluded with suggestions and possible scenarios to help address the economic and social crises due to COVID-19.
