His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, is pleased to announce the inaugural Guidance & Counselling Campaign. The Center for Guidance and Guidance of the Deanship of Student Affairs is organizing this two day event on behalf of the university. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of student needs and those resources available to satisfy same.

At the beginning of the program, the organizers briefed His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy on the educational programs and evaluative processes and resources available for the students. His Excellency recognized that an intense academic program is always challenging. Moreover, some students have personal or family issues, which can greatly complicate or even interfere with the educational process. "The university puts a great emphasis on providing our students with appropriate guidance, advice, and counsel for dealing with a variety of academic and personal issues. This program will ensure that our students know that the faculty is there in time of need," he said.

Center for Guidance and Counseling Supervisor, Dr. Khorana Al-Suhaimi, explained that this event focuses on making sure that the faculty can recognize student issues and properly direct those students to the appropriate resources within the university. King Khalid University is able to address a variety of issues, including but not limited to academic, psychological, behavioral, stress/anxiety, emotional, and medical.

One highlight of the event will be an interactive lecture entitled 'Psychological Stability and its Importance to the University Student'. Dr. Faisal Al-Qahtani will deliver that lecture, which will focus on practical aspects of helping students with those issues affecting their education. Dr. Sami Al-Faifi will close the last day of the event with a training course on time management.
