His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Asir, held a ceremony on behalf of the King Khalid University marathon running team. The team recently took first place in the Saudi Universities Sports Federation Championship. The King Khalid University team brought home the gold medal hosted by the University of Hail. His Royal Highness congratulated the team for their impressive achievement.

King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, also congratulated each of the marathon team members. He praised the team members for their hard work and dedication that led to their victory. Rector Al-Solamy also thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs for supporting student activities that make such accomplishments possible.

The competition at the marathon event was fierce. The Saudi Sports Federation Championship included more than 140 contestants representing 21 different Saudi universities. The championship race was very close, with mere seconds separating the medal winners. The Rector congratulated all of the competitors for their hard work and impressive performances at the event.
