The Strategic Partnership between Secondary and Postsecondary Education Meeting Comes to an End

On Thursday, King Khalid University concluded the work of the Strategic Partnership
between Secondary and Postsecondary Education meeting, which was held at the university
over a period of 2 days. The meeting highlighted the main goals and the new study plans for
the secondary schools' pathways system, and its relation to King Khalid University plans.

The meeting was held as a result of the partnership between the executive program for
developing pathways, study plans, and academies in the public education sector and King
Khalid University and included the attendance of governmental and private universities'
representatives, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, a number of military sectors,
and relevant bodies.

In his opening speech, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University Prof.
Faleh bin Raja Al-Solami, explained that the secondary schools’ pathway system is
one of the Ministry of Education’s ambitious plans. He added that the ministry
established the executive program for pathways, study plans, and academies, and
extended its task to include partnerships with universities to enhance its role in the
development of the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting agenda included 9 sessions. In the opening session, the director of the executive
program for developing pathways, study plans, and academies Prof. Ibrahim Alhomaidan,
delivered a briefing on the goals and the positive effects of the program. The rest of the
sessions focused on a number of topics, among which were the developed study plans for
universities and secondary schools, the impact of teaching philosophy in public education, as
well as the pathways secondary school graduates' correlation with the unified Saudi
classification and academic disciplines.
