KKU Signs Two Agreements to Train Home Economics Students in Professional Hospitality

King Khalid University’s Vice president of Education and Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad bin Muhammad bin Dajam, attended the signing of two service contract agreements between the University’s College of Home Economics, the Swiss Hospitality Company and Star Training Company - the official partner of the AHLEI Institute. The signing took place in the university city of Al-Qara’a, where the two agreements were signed on behalf of the university, by the vice Dean of the College of Home Economics for Educational and Academic Affairs, Fahda Al-Sudairy.

On his part the university vice president of education and academic affairs Prof. Saad Ibn Dajam stressed that the signing of the two agreements comes to emphasize the importance of training in a practical field . He added that the university is keen to prepare its students according to the needs of the labor market and aligning with national programs and strategies such as the Human Capacity Development Program and the Asir Region Development Strategy.

The supervisor of the Student Training and Exchange Unit, Dr. Mona Abdullah Al-Shehri, explained that the two agreements provide excellent training opportunities in the field of hospitality. She noted that the training will provide students with a certificate of “accredited guest service professional.” CGSP" and is supported by the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf).

It is noteworthy that on the sidelines of the agreement, collaboration opportunities with the the Swiss Hospitality Company and the Star Training Company (Star) in the fields of training, qualifying and developing the skills of university students in the fields of tourism and hospitality were discussed.
