On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Education, His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, recently chaired the eleventh meeting of the University Council for the academic year 1443, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Universities Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Saleh, and the members of the King Khalid University Council.

The vice president of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research - Secretary of the University Council - Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the council discussed a number of issues and took the necessary recommendations.

Al-Qarni, said that one of the most prominent recommendations taken by the council is the transfer of all university programs from the semester system to the three-semester system and the redistribution of study plans, programs and courses accordingly, as well as the recommendation to approve scholarships, extend scholarships, terminate scholarships ,approve the appointment of a number of employees on the positions of “lecturer”, “assistant professor” and “associate professor”, as well as granting master’s degrees and doctorate degrees to a number of graduate students, and approving the services and expertise of faculty members.

The Council also recommended the approval of sabbatical leave for a number of faculty members to carry out scientific research, the academic calendar for the next academic year 1444 with the three-semester system, in addition to determining the number of male and female students proposed to be accepted for the bachelor’s and diploma degrees for the academic year 1444. As well as approving the plan of the Deanship of Student Affairs for the year the academic 1444, the university’s proposed draft budget for the year 2023 AD, and re-forming the Scientific Council for the next session, which will be resumed from the beginning of the next Hijri year.
