35 Research Papers to be Discussed in the University Conference "Narrative Discourse and Risks of the Age”

Under the patronage of his Excellency King Khalid University Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, the college of Humanities represented by the Arabic Language and Literature Department is to organize the second international conference “ Narrative Discourse and Risks of the Age” on Tuesday and Wednesday the 25th and 26th of January 2022.

The university vice president of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies and head of the conference committee Dr. Hamid bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, said that the university is pleased to hold such a conference, which targets a language specialist and students. He also explained that the conference comes as part of a series of international conferences that are to be held in the university in this academic year.

On his part, the Dean of the College of Human Sciences, Dr. Khaled bin Saeed Abu Hekma, confirmed that this conference is an extension of various conferences held by the college, and others that it will hold in the future, in various fields of human sciences aligned with the university’s goals.

Abu Hikma added, that the conference aspires to achieve a set of goals, most prominent of which is approaching the term narrative discourse, monitoring its activities, its movement in modern linguistics, as well as highlighting the extent to which this discourse interacts with modern technologies.

In addition, the head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Numa Al-Qahtani, explained that narrative discourse is one of the oldest cultural discourses in the world, and the most active in modern cultures. Pointing out that the conference comes to achieve goals of great scientific value, and to discuss very important areas.

The Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the International Conference (Narrative Discourse and the Bets of the Age), Prof. Muhammad bin Yahya Abu Melha, explained that the Scientific Committee of the Conference received more than eighty research summaries and after reviewing them the committee decide on thirty-five papers, divided into eight sessions and two main lectures.

It’s worth noting that the participants and speakers represent prestigious universities belonging to several Arab and foreign countries.
