University Curriculum and Plans Unit Continues its Efforts to Ensure a Smooth Transition

The General Supervisor of the Curriculum and Plans Unit at King Khalid University, Dr. Adwaa Ali Al-Ahmari, explained that “the project to transition to the three-semester system or what is known as the three-year system comes as a response to the directions of the Ministry of Education, in dividing the school year into three semesters and which according to the university will devote its efforts to reshaping all programs and courses to fit this new approach in the Saudi Education system.

Alahmari also added, "The University Agency for Academic Affairs, represented by the Curriculum and Plans Unit, resolved to seize the opportunity of the transition to avoid any future problem in study plans, and develop and update study plans and programs to meet the requirements and skills of the current era and achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.

Al-Ahmari added, several meetings, courses and workshops were held with faculty members and concerned authorities to study plans, review guidelines and to generate views on the transition process, and accordingly actions will be taken to simulate study plans to a three-semester system.

On the technical side, she explained that the "Minhaj" program is being developed in cooperation with the General Administration of Information Technology to add new elements that fit the three-semester system according to the Saudi unified classification of specializations and educational levels.
