Scientific Journals and Associations Unit in Progress

On Monday, the 29th of March 2021, His Excellency, the President of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solami, launched the development work plan for the Scientific Journals and Associations Unit, which was attended by a number of Vice Deans, Heads of editorial boards of scientific journals, Heads of scientific associations and members of the General Administration of Information Technology.

On his part, the University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Hamid bin Majdoo Al Qarni, thanked His Excellency the University President for his constant support and efforts to develop the agency, he also thanked the members of scientific journals and associations for their excellent efforts.

Al Qarni, added that the Scientific Research and Postgraduates Agency developed the university scientific journals during the last year, by implementing many initiatives, the agency also documented each release of each journal and worked with the General Administration of Information Technology to design electronic websites for the journals, and to design a program for reception editing and arbitration of scientific researches.

Al Qarni, also stressed that electronic transformation is a fundamental factor to professionally manage scientific journals, adding that four scientific journals have been launched by international publishers, which is an important and special step to increase the audience and influence of scientific journals since they will be included in international databases. The event also included designing electronic websites for each association, allowing easy communication between the association members, and offering virtual scientific activities as well.

At the end of the event, His Excellency the University President, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Allah Al Solami, honored the heads of editorial boards of scientific journals, heads of scientific associations at the university, members of the Scientific Journals and Associations Unit, and some members of the General Administration of Information Technology.
