A Management Council for the kkux platform

His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Faleh bin Reja-Allah Al-Solami, issued to form a Management Council for the kkux platform.

The council is chaired by the Vice-Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy and includes in its membership the general supervisor of the platform, the dean of e-learning, the assistant general supervisor of the platform, the executive director of the platform, the general supervisor of the legal administration, the general supervisor of self-resources, the head of the education technologies department at the College of Education, the assistant supervisor of the design unit, and Dr. Asma Al Hammadi, a member of the teaching staff, Department of Educational Technologies, College of Education.

The Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdul Latif Al-Hedithi, on his behalf and on behalf of the Council members, thanked His Excellency the University Rector for his support and approval to form the council for the kkux platform. He also stressing on the great attention that King Khalid University pays to provide learners with the latest technologies and digital platforms, so the KKUx platform was launched three years ago to establish a new stage of education inside and outside the university and to meet the Kingdom's 2030 vision.

Fahad Al-Ahmari, General Supervisor of kkux platform, expressed his pleased of His Excellency decision to form a management council for the platform, which takes the platform towards new opportunities, noting that the platform intends to launch a group of short programs with miniature and approved certificates, and some new initiatives that will be presented to the Council for approval and launch with the new version of the platform, which will be launched soon.

King Khalid University is one of the first Saudi universities that adopt the idea of ​​establishing and governing digital platforms for open education, which is added to its achievements, as it was chosen as the best digital innovation in the education and learning branch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the year 2019 by the United Nations Prize for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) projects, within the best practices in digital content that contribute to the achievements of the United Nations' sustainable development goals, within 420 participations from 100 countries around the world.

The platform had a positive societal role in light of Corona pandemic, as all its courses were published for free, and at that time the platform had more than 1,700,000 visitors and 40,000 trainees, while the number of qualifications reached 20,000, and 24 free skills were offered with the participation of 19 countries
