King Khalid University Rector Inaugurates the 'Amal' Anti-Drug and Anti-Smoking Awareness Program

On Tuesday evening, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy sponsored the opening of the Amal Anti-Drug and Anti-Smoking Awareness program, which was organized by the Guidance and Counseling Center at the Deanship of Student Affairs. The meeting was held in the presence of Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Dr. Saad Du'ajim, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Adeed, and senior leadership.

Before the opening of the ceremony, His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy visited the accompanying exhibition, which was held by a number of entities from the Asir region. After that, the ceremony was opened with a speech by Guidance and Counseling Center Director, Dr. Waddah Al-Alami, followed by a play and a number of presentations that discussed the dangers of drugs and smoking.

His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy then thanked Dean Al-Adeed, Director Al-Alami, and the participating entities for their efforts towards the cause, stressing that the role of awareness is of great importance in preventing the spread of drug use and smoking.

Of noteworthy mention, the university smoking prevention regulation and penalties were inaugurated with a planned date to launch at the beginning of Sha'ban concurrently with an educational awareness campaign.
