National Day celebration at Girls Students' Study Center.

Munira Ahmed, a Sudanese faculty member at the Arabic Language Department, who is also an Assistant Professor at King Khalid University, has, on Wednesday morning, the 24/9/2014 AD, surprised the attendees while celebrating the 84th Saudi National Day at Girls students' Studies Center in Balasamr. The assistant Professor gave a poem on the occasion entitled "It's your day my dear Homeland", and it received a significant applause from the audience.

On this historic occasion, the Dean of the University Center for Girls students' studies and the College of Nursing, Dr. Shanifa Al-Qarni stated that the celebration for the 84th anniversary of unifying the "Revelation land"  -  the country of the Two Holy Mosques - is necessary. She said, "We have to appreciate the glories, and the victories that have been achieved at the hands of the kingdom's founder, God bless him." She added, "We are meeting here to celebrate and to review the achievements and developments in the Kingdom at the hands of King Abdul Aziz's sons for more than eight decades, as well as to witness and cite the great and universal position the Kingdom has occupied on the whole world map."

After that, a video titled " A Homeland of Glory" which tells the story of the unification of the Kingdom was shown. The film displayed pictures of the kings of the Kingdom in a sequential order, and with the video being interspersed with national songs. A student, Munira Al-Shaddad, used the occasion to give a word on behalf of the students, while another student - Ameera Al-Qahtani - from the Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered  a Poem.

As part of the occasion, a Video entitled "Achievements racing against time" was displayed reviewing the achievements of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz. Another video about the achievements of King Khalid University was also presented. Also presented at the occasion was yet another video, in which students from the University express their feelings towards the National Day.

 On their turns, the Head of the Centre Professor Huda Mushayt, the Coordinator of the National Plan for Digital Communications and Information Technology Projects Mrs. Aisha Al-Shahrani,  Ms. Rehab Khalban and Hanan Al-Omari from Operation and maintenance Unit as well as some officials of public relations unit such as  Amal Al-Qahtani, Awatif Al-Qahtani and Smaia Jaber, all  participated in the celebration, with some of them submitting a video clip containing images and national songs, and others  distributing white and green roses to the audience. The celebration included a special corner showing pictures of the kings of Saudi Arabia, and a plate in the form of Kingdom's map, on which the students, members of the teaching staff, and the Centre's employees wrote down their feelings on that occasion. Also, a number of affiliates, and employees of the University Center for the Study of students in Balsamr decorated in green, their offices and other facilities of center, with the main theater completely decorated with flags and pictures of the king, with national quotes, and with green and white balloons.

At the end of the celebrations, a competition covering some questions about the history of the country was held. in addition, there was expressing of feelings about the National Day by students.
