The Saudi International Conference on Medical Education Kicks Off

His Excellency the President of King Khalid University, Prof.  Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, witnessed today, Tuesday, the launch of the activities of the Saudi International  medical conference  SIMEC 2022, which is organized by the  Saudi Scientific Society for Medical Education, and includes the  participation of more than 20 national and international  speakers. Al-Salami   expressed his appreciation towards  His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz for sponsoring  this conference, and for his continuous support for the activities and programs of the university.

 

His Excellency welcomed the participants and attendees, stressing the university’s keenness to achieve the vision of our  country and to enhance scientific research in the field of modern medical sciences. He added that the university is inspired by the work of  our country and the unlimited support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect them .Noting the attention and care devoted by the e Ministry of Education which is  represented by His Excellency the Minister, Prof. Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, and His Excellency Vice President for Universities, Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Ahmed Al-Sudairi.

 

Al-Salami explained, that the  conference topics and papers discuss  areas of developing curricula, plans, education strategies, teaching methods, means and techniques of education, development programs in the field of medicine  that are  basic pillars in the field of medical education and have clear and important repercussions in  qualitative outputs that achieve development goals of the vision Saudi Arabia 2030.

 

On his part, the President of the Saudi Scientific Society for Medical Education and the conference’s president, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Omari, explained that the convening of this conference coincides with the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Saudi Society for Medical Education at the university, and  an opportunity to review the progress that has been made so far and to  recall the great efforts made by the founders and leaders of the society In the service of medical education through this association.

 

Al-Omari stressed that this conference is considered the largest scientific gathering in the field of medical education in the Middle East and is to  discusses recent developments and research related to medical education, including  topics of innovations in medical education, trends in new curricula for medical colleges, the development of academics skills, and matters related to exams and  evaluation. Noting that the conference will  focus  on distance learning topics, especially after the topics critical role in the global pandemic, as well as reviewing related to academic leadership, clinical training, and professional education.

 

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Omari thanked all committees that worked to achieve the success of this event, which is lead by  His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Faleh bin Rajaa Al-Solami, who is keen to overcome all challenges  discussed  in  this conference.

 

The ceremony included an introductory video of the association and its work, and concluded by honoring the founders and former presidents of the association and the winners of the conference competitions.

It is worth noting that  during the ceremony, the scientific journal for medical education and the new identity of the association were launched.
