Under the Patronage of His Excellency the University President the University Celebrates the International Day of Education

On February 1st, King Khalid University, represented by the College of Education,
conducted an online event to commemorate the International Day of Education under
the patronage of His Excellency, Prof. Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Solami.

 

During the event, the College of Education Dean, Prof. Thabet Al Kahlan, delivered a
speech, in which he emphasized the university's keenness to improve the educational
process, serve an estimate 60,000 students, activate e-learning and distance education,
and sponsor talented and gifted students by creating an educational environment. He
further praised the outstanding national initiatives taken in this direction.

 

The event, included the discussion of a number of scientific papers, revolved around
the topic of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presented by a number of
faculty members from the College of Education. The papers presented included: a
paper entitled “Digital Transformation in Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
by Prof. Amer Al-Shehri, a paper from Dr. Nada Al-Harbi titled “The Development of
Scientific Research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia”, a paper from Dr. Abdulrahman
Al-Harthy, discussing the topic of “The Ambition of Education in Vision 2030”, a
paper from Dr. Rana Al-Shahrani where she discussed the "The Reality of Education
in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia", and Prof. Lubna Al-Ajmi participated with a paper
entitled “Aspects of the Quantitative and Qualitative Dimensions of Education in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

 

It is worth noting, that Dr. Ahmed Khadran Al-Omari, the Director General of Education in
Asir Region, attended the meeting and stressed the importance of strengthening the relation
between public and higher education as well as fostering the collaboration between the
administration and the university in order to achieve the desired goals.
