University Holds its 1st Students & Beneficiaries' Projects Meeting in Al-Majardah

Under the patronage of His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Faleh
bin Rajaallah Al-Solami, the university held the first meeting regarding the projects of
the Computer Science Department and the benefiting bodies, which was represented
by the College of Arts and Sciences in Al-Majardah Governorate. The Governor of
Al-Majardah interim Mr.Thamer bin Nayef Al-Marzouqi and a number of directors of
government departments in the governorate were among the attendees.
During the meeting, the attendees watched a recorded speech by His Excellency the
University President, followed by a speech by the General Director of the King
Khalid University branch in Tihama, Dr. Ahmed Atef Al-Shehri, in which he
welcomed the attendees and praised the efforts of the college, the students and the
beneficiaries. Furthermore, several applications and websites were handed over to
certain entities, most prominent of which were the Smart Student Transportation
application for iPhones, the Educational Process Follow-up website, the medical
services website, the Talented Student application for iPhones, the smart investor
application for iPhones, and the Tourist Guide website in Al-Majardeh.

 

On her part, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in Al-Majardah, Dr. Maha
Al-Shehri, confirmed in her speech that the college is always keen to achieve the
highest degree of compatibility between the skills of graduates and the requirements
of the labor market by developing study plans for college programs, improving
laboratories and workshops, enhancing graduation projects, encouraging innovation
and creative thinking, and achieving requirements and standards for local and
international academic accreditation. Al-Shehri added that the colleges mission is to
prepare graduates to be equipped with theoretical knowledge, practical experience,
and positive behaviors. Further, Al-Shehri and the college's employees thanked His
Excellency the University President for his patronage of the initiative, his
encouragement of the graduate students for their projects, and his motivation towards
the college and its employees to launch purposeful projects to the community in order
to enhance the academic outcomes in a way that suits the labor market and help the
college's students make the most of what they have learned in the service of their
society and their country.

 

It is worth noting, that several government agencies have benefited from these
projects, represented by the Sub-Committee for Tourism Development in Al-
Majardah Governorate, the Department of Education in Aseer, the Municipality of Al-
Majardah, in addition to a number of units in the university.
