College of Nursing in Mahyil Asir Organizes "My Profession is My Identity" Event

King Khalid University, represented by the College of Nursing in Mahyil Asir, recently organized the "My Profession is My Identity" event at the Basateen Mall Center under the patronage of the Governor of Mahyil Asir, Mr. Mohammad bin Falah Al-Qarqaah, and with his attendance alongside the Advisor to the President of King Khalid University, Supervisor of the University Colleges in Tihamah, Prof. Ahmed bin Atif Al-Shehri. 

Dr. Abeer Saad Asiri, Dean of the College of Nursing in Mahyil Asir, explained that the event aimed to strengthen social responsibility and enhance cooperation with the health sector; in line with the university's strategic goals and the Asir Development Strategy. She added, that the event, in addition to its accompanying exhibition, aimed to raise awareness of health professions, with a focus on nursing and chronic diseases. The exhibition included the college's wing, and  the participation of the Mahyil Asir Education Department, the Red Crescent Administration, the Diabetes and Endocrine Center, the Dental Center, Mahyil General Hospital, Madaweh Hospital, and Enaya Rose Medical Complex.

 It’s worth noting, the event included 20 health corners that provided free consultations and various examinations such as vital signs, blood sugar, blood pressure, and free dental examinations, interspersed with awareness discussions on the definition of the nursing profession, chronic diseases, healthy nutrition, and awareness of school health. Training workshops were also presented on how to provide first aid and deal with cases of fractures and emergencies, with the attendance of more than 500 beneficiaries.
