Deanship of Student Affairs Concludes Virtual Summer Camp Programs

King Khalid University concluded the activities of the virtual summer camp organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. It targeted students and was a part of the initiatives and programs of Mobaderoon. Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Mansour Al-Adheed, explained that the summer camp lasted for a month and implemented 12 programs. The programs varied between educational programs, sports, and entertainment, benefitting approximately 1,700 students.

 

The Best Nation

Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatima Shaban Asiri, explained the summer camp was launched on the 9th of Shawwal. The first program was entitled “The Best Nation”. It was implemented by the “Lanterns of Hope Club" at the female College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion. It was delivered by Dr. Sakina Muhammad Abdul Hamid who spoke on the privileges of the Islamic Nation. She also spoke on the conditions of the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice.

 

A Peaceful State of Being

Another program was held on the first day of the camp entitled “A Peaceful State of Being”. It was organized by the “Excellence Makers Club" at the female Science and Arts College in Dhahran Al-Janoub. The program was delivered by Dr. Sabah Muhammad and Dr. Rehab Omar where the total number of attendees was 71 students. They explained the concept of self-correction, its importance, goals, and types. 

 

Nursing is a Science and an Art

"The Healing Club" at the female College of Applied Medical Sciences in Mohayil Asir implemented a program on the 11th of Shawwal. The two-hour program was entitled “Nursing between Science and Art” and was delivered by Ms. Abrar Ghrawi. She explained the concept of nursing between science and art. She highlighted the latest developments to 14 nursing students.

 

Five Minutes Craft

The Medical club at the female Medical College organized a program entitled "Five Minute Crafts" through the club's Twitter account. It lasted for eight days and included five categories: teaching painting, crocheting, designing, photography, and recycling with tutorials. It benefited 1,259 people.

 

This is Us at KKU Magazine

The Musk club at the College of Arts and Sciences in Khamis Mushait issued a magazine entitled "This is Us at KKU". The first issue was made public on the 13th of Shawwal and the second on the 10th of Dhu al-Qi'dah. The magazine is one of the camp’s initiatives and programs and can be found on the Deanship of Student Affairs' Twitter account. 

 

Night Notes

The University's Agency for Female Student Affairs organized a program entitled "Night Thoughts" on the 16th of Shawwal, which was attended by 69  students. It was delivered by Ms. Manal Al-Qahtani with a number of students from Saudi Universities. Ms. Mona Al-Qahtani hosted the program where the student Ibtihal Awad from King Khalid University talked about the quarantine and how to invest personal time. Then students Dalal Al-Hogail from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and Tarafah Al-Sultan from King Saud University talked about education during the COVID-19 pandemic. After, student Hessa Al-Haqbani from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University talked about the most prominent social aspects in the light of the current crisis. At the end, Sarah Al-Rubaie from King Khalid University spoke about the most prominent mental health issues and proposed solutions for them.

 

Excellence Makers

On the 25th of Shawwal, the last session of the "English Correction Sessions" program was held. This program was organized by the "Excellence Makers Club" at the female Science and Arts College in Dhahran Al-Janoub. It benefited 100 people and included a series of courses in verbal communication delivered by Prof. Ali Al-Bashir. The program, which lasted for three days and a total of six hours, was hosted by Ms. Hajar Al-Wadii. The program covered a number of topics like: developing communicational skills, employing emotional intelligence, and using proper expressions in different situations.

 

Fitness at Home

The Agency of Sports Activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs implemented a program entitled "Fitness at Home". The program was held on the first of Dhu al-Qi'dah and was delivered by the agency’s fitness trainer Sami Jaber Al-Shuraim. He talked about the importance of fitness to a group of 40 participants.

 

Thoughts Podcast

The English Language club at the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Female Section, organized a program entitled “Thoughts Podcast”. It took place on the 3rd and the 8th of Dhu al-Qi'dah with 26 participating students. The program aimed to teach students a variety of methods to learn English outside of there conventional classroom.

 

I am a Geographer

The Humanities club at the Female Humanities College organized a competition entitled "I am a geographer". It was held on the 8th of Dhu al-Qi'dah through the College's official Twitter account. The competition aimed to develop the geographical aspects in the Saudi environment and motivating the competition between contestants. The competition benefited around 100 students.

 

Two Sporting Events

The summer camp activities were concluded with two sports competitions. They were entitled “The Best Sports Video Carrying an Awareness Message" and "The Sports Commentator". They were implemented by the Deanship of Student Affairs' Agency of Sports Activities on the 10th of Dhu al-Qi'dah.
