The Information and Communication department of King Khalid University has launched a Media Club for female students of the University. The inauguration took place in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Zahba Al Rayza. The idea of establishing a media club for female students proves the keenness of the department to discover and improve talents, and to encourage innovation and creativity. In addition, the club will be a center of cultural and social radiation which will allow its members to communicate with media activities leaders inside and outside the university. The Club also could be an important way for the students to display their products, so that they can be the brick that will indeed enrich the entire community.

The club, through its vision, aspires to be a pioneer in the field of information and communication and in promoting the students academically and intellectually, professionally and socially. The vision of the Club proves the interest of the department of Information and Communication in creating a sort of outstanding female students who possess many of the main knowledge, skills, and basic tools needed in the labor market of information and communication field. These skills and knowledge are necessary and can be obtained through training and development. The club contributes to the academic activities and community service acts as well.

The objectives of the Media Club for female students are centered around the application of what is studied within the academic plan of the department. Among these objectives are directing the energies of students towards their own benefit and interest, encouraging teamwork spirit and the exchange of experiences in various media fields, and the achievement of belonging to Information and Communication department and the university alike.

It is noteworthy that the club included multi-media disciplines, through 8 specialized committees containing a special committee for press, and another one for digital media. Other committees are Public Relations Committee, Information and Documentation committee, Organization and Implementation committee, Radio and Television committee, Theater committee, as well as Design and Photography Committee.
