University to educate mothers of children with special needs'.

The Dean of the University Center for the Girl Students' Studies, and the School of Nursing of King Khalid University, Dr. Shanifa Al-Qarni has sponsored an educational day for mothers of children with special needs. The day, which was arranged at the Aljanoub Center for Handicapped that is affiliated to the Southern Women's Society was under the supervision of Prof. Eman Muhammad Alnashar, and in cooperation with a number of the University Center's students.

The meeting started with a welcome address presented by Salma Shardah, the Director of the Center. In her word, she welcomed the stakeholders of the University Center, and praised the role which is being played by the Center in cooperation with the Society. Then Dr. Hafizah, from the psychologist Association at the South Society talked about the psychological problems of children with special needs. After that, Prof. Ihsan Mahmoud Fahmy, a professor of psychiatry Faculty of Medicine of the University Center delivered a lecture entitled "How to deal with a child with special needs", in which she clarified the problems facing the mothers of children with special needs, and how to deal with them, as well as the correct methods to avoid problems. She also talked about the psychological needs of persons with disabilities, and types of domestic violence and how to protect the people with special needs. Then, Dr. Doaa Abu Zeid, a Nutrition Specialist from the Limited Medical Marketing Company, Abbott gave a lecture about feeding difficulties in children, and showed how to overcome them. She also explained the health styles to feed children with special needs.
